For more than 40 years, I have been
painting… in my head, not with my hands. I thought I was an artist until
one day I got dirty with my first oil painting.
I knew then, being a self-taught artist is so much harder than painting…
in my head.
I was born and raised in a poor remote part of a third-world country,
Vietnam. Not to mention that I was a poorest boy among my friends,
too. But I have never regretted my childhood years, in fact, it was
greatest period of my life so far.
I fled the country in 1975 with no relatives. Texas has become my home
state and The United States of America is my beloved country.
To appreciate the good life God has given to me, I paint things with colors
as I see my life, objects and sceneries around are filled with beautiful
colors. Without any kind of art training, I has no influences to any type
of art at all. It comes straight from my heart.
Kathleen and I have two children, Rebecca and Andrew. We all joined
the local church to serve the Lord.
